Diffusion of some popular customs increases demand for raw materials. Increased demand for some products can strain the capacity of the environment. Although folk culture is not automatically mild in environmental impact, popular culture tends to ignore local environments because of its spatial extent, including the modification of the natural environment.

Characteristics of Folk Culture. A group of heterogeneous people who stretch across the world and who embrace cultural traits such as dance, music, and food preference that change frequently. Large scale and varies from time to time in a given place.

Popular culture is those types of media that have mass accessibility and appeal. Pop culture informs how people make sense of the world. It reveals what society believes about itself, but it can also be used as an instrument for effecting social change. Studying pop culture teaches us something new by challenging us to critically consider the society we live in.

The study of pop culture helps us to gain empathy by recognizing ourselves in each other. The reasons to study pop culture are all connected to answering that question: 1. Studying pop culture reveals the underlying assumptions, power structures, and philosophical and moral constructs of the society that produces those cultural products.

Synth culture is manufactured artificially by major corporations, supposedly to prey on our desires and interests. Is that not a great thing? We are getting products and services that the majority of society wants, without there being major commercialized products created and distributed that are completely unlikable.

The Filipino culture I have learned is one that is a very vibrant and alive. Filipinos tend to put more importance to foreign culture and things as compared to our own. The culture of the Philippines comprises a blend of traditional Filipino and Spanish Catholic traditions, with influences from America and other parts of Asia. The Filipinos are family oriented and often religious with an appreciation for art, fashion, music and food.

Custom is a repetitive act of a group so much that it becomes characteristics of that group — college students wearing jeans every day. The difference is that traditions and customs are practiced over a long period by many people.

A habit is more informal, and is usually limited to one person. A habit is a learned behavior that becomes reflexive over time. The behavior is often triggered by a certain context. For example, you may automatically go brush your teeth after finishing breakfast as part of your morning routine. An unhealthy habit could be biting your nails or texting while driving. A custom also called a tradition is a common way of doing things.

It is something that many people do, and have done for a long time. Usually, the people come from the same country, culture, or religion. Usually, they do not know when the custom started.
